Up & Running ...

Wed May 06, 2020 2:14 pm

Purchased the RP4 (CANAKIT) with 64gb SD Card on Amazon. Assembled easily, but had issues writing MovieNow image to SD Card. Simply had to use a different computer to complete it. The author of MovieNow even connected via Teamviewer to help configure and clean my movie library. The only nagging issue is the RP4 comes with two micro HDMI ports. I was hoping to use both ports for two separate 50" TVs, but only HDMI 0 shows a picture. HDMI 1 is just a black screen. Using PuTTy to SSH to MovieNow, the tvservice command shows both TVs, so I don't know why HDMI 1 isn't displaying a picture. Decided to just use a HDMI splitter for now.

If you know how to get HDMI 0 and HDMI 1 to output to display, please let us know.

Anyhow, have a look ...

Thanks! The ticket booth was won on ebay for $200. Spent quite a bit more to have it shipped to me. It originally belonged to a Pennsylvania ballroom and was built in 1925. The year was carved into the wood. It's quite big and heavy too. Just over 8' tall and 5' wide. The glass alone weighs over 200 lbs. I also built a full-length marquee above the ticket booth.

The theater has a 100" screen, 1080p projector, 7.2 surround sound (2 subwoofers up front) and in-chair butt-kickers.

Looks flipping amazing! I don't have room like that for a Ticket Booth but will be putting in a cabinet for my Popcorn and a Kegerator by the entrance. Ran a dedicated 20 Amp circuit just for it!
